The Truth will be Photographed

Here recently, I’ve been wondering who or what is keeping me afloat amongst some of Dallas’ greatest photographers? The answer . . . is the truth . . . I have nothing to hide and everything to gain. No one but God shall deter me from the future I strive to achieve. I, by all means, do NOT intend for this text to be offensive or have the slightest air of conceitedness . . . if anything, I want to stand as an example that the younger you are, the better position you are in to stand out and be the great self God created you to be!

Tuesday was logistically the worst day I’ve had in months . . . creatively . . . it couldn’t have been any better! I had the luxury of working with Steven D. Hill (twitter) as worked the facial canvas of Krystal DeLeon (twitter). What amazed me is that we were all born in the year of 1985 and had made significant advancements in our careers. We were also in the company of Kauwaune Burton & Chris Porter who provided food and entertainment along with professional oversight . . . (not really, but they are pros!) MOVING ALONG =====> The end result was majestic and personally I wish the day didn’t have to end.

Actually, it didn’t just END there . . . me and the misses took a trip to the wash to . . . well . . . wash. I figured I’d bring my cam along and snap some shots of our interactions. Despite my sinuses ultimately taking over and causing me to fling snot all over the place . . . I had fun . . . (not to say I don’t enjoy my lady, I just don’t enjoy the washateria lol).

Wednesday and Thursday sort of blew by . . . A little video gaming on both days, worked out on Thursday with my friend Tim on the Basketball court. Here’s some real motivation for those who think they can’t keep up with the rest of the world. Tim is a Baseball man, anything in Baseball . . . he’ll probably shut you down in. Tim also hadn’t played basketball since his early school years, I believe he mentioned Junior High. This doesn’t stop Tim from stepping out on the court with me, in fact, he is motivated by the opposition I pose! Tim goes one whole week of getting crossed over, slammed on and rejected! . . . The next week brings about the same outcome, but I SWEAR it becomes much harder to perform like the week before! Tim studied . . . Tim learned . . . Tim knew time would allow for progress. Think about that. A man can only be as successful as he strives to be. Without prior experience, a man can make significant progress in any and all that he puts his mind to. I’m proud of him for reminding me of that fact.

Reminding myself of important things has become an on-going trait as well. Recently, I’ve been reminding myself that I have a message to deliver to those willing to open the letter. My Facebook page has worked as a catalyst for this message. Here, I’ll give you an example:

The inner sanctum of the Negro mind truly cannot be classified. However, within the Negro community, there’s a classification of being a “Nigga” that we know and accept all too well. Even worse, once the classification is placed on a member of our community, we outcast them & by doing so, we perpetuate a slavery trend by dividing our power & causing turmoil within ourselves.

. . . and I meant every word! I also meant this:

Fraudulence is a society administered virus. Spread from person to person all originating from several sources that we are in contact with daily. Reality TV is the main source. Think about it, what makes the lives in the shows we watch any better or different from your own? Oh they made an album? Starred in a movie? That’s petty if they go through the same things we do. Dont be like them, be like you.

Okay people, I have edits to take care of from today’s WONDERFUL shoot with Monique Murphy (twitter)! This one makes men drool. I will leave you with the collages from shoots with Tanisha Shamlin, Briana Nicole (twitter), Jazmine Chanel (twitter) & LaBrittiney Edwards (twitter), as well as a new design. Also be sure to check out Clixto7’s new blog! It took him a year to get me to sign up for twitter . . . and it took me a year to get to come over to Wordpress, LOL . . . gotta love it.

. . . but am I ready?

No need to make false promises and say that I’m gonna be writing more often or anything like that. I just need some space to trash all these thoughts and I figured this was the best storage facility.

All good things come to an end and here recently I’ve been considering ending a few of those myself! However I always hesitate and stop myself. Which conjures the questions: Am I committed to this journey? Or have I served my purpose already? Either way, am I ready for the endgame that is enacted down each road? Claiming to be ready for ANYTHING is truly a great way to egg all over your face, so obviously I never truly meant it whenever I said it . . . But with so many good things occurinn over the horizon should I make room for them or try and squeeze them in?

I guess until then I should get a bigger room. Two major photoshoots in two months, dying patience for these magazines, decaying patience for false financial prophets and a boiling hatred for the hourly pay rate I get for the work I do. Well obviously I’m holding on to what may seem to be dead weight, but is it really dead? And can it truly be that heavy?

The questions seem vague and the answers aren’t in the ironic status of being clear. I’m human, yes, but this agony of being lost is a mutant. I need a cape.
